| Welcome to Homosassa Florida Homosassa is located in southern Citrus County. Homosassa is rich in history, dating back to the early Native Americans and the Spanish explorer, Hernando de Soto. Yulee Sugarmill is also located in Homosassa, which processed molasses, sugar, and syrup for Confederate troops during the Civil War. One can still visit the Yulee Sugarmill's ruins today. |

Perhaps the biggest attraction in Homosassa is the Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park. This park is full of native Florida wildlife, including the Florida panther and black bear.
Visit the globally renowned Fish Bowl, which gives visitors an underwater glimpse of Florida's gentle marine mammals, the manatee. The crystal clear spring water is easy look through as you observe typical manatee behaviors. Rivaling the park in tourist attraction is Homosassa's great commercial fishing. |
